I use Photo Mechanic, but I prefer zooming in files centered on the click in ACDsee. They keep releasing new versions with more features whilst not addressing stability issues of the previous. But I've been bitten by ACDsee too often. If you are comfortable with making a series of backups of the very large database for some protection (say 1 week ago and 1 month ago), then maybe use it. It's nice to use but neither the fastest nor the most stable. Yeah it 'says' it can repair databases but the function on big bad ones does not work.

Because tags are written to the database and not the photos themselves, you're then screwed. Then there was the fact that someday when the database gets to tens of GB it gets either slow to start or the database self-destructs. It was always buggy and prone to crashing especially on certain jpegs and videos, and more randomly the more of its windows I had open. I used every other version of ACDsee from 2002 on 2000, XP, 7 but I don't recommend it for serious work.
